Delivery and establishment
How plants reach you, and what to do when they arrive.

Transport
Orders are shipped from Pistoia by refrigerated transport. Container stock travels on CC trolleys; field-grown specimens and large trees travel on pallets or in open frames. Delivery is quoted per order once the load is known, because volume rather than weight determines the cost.
Timing
Container-grown plants can be delivered throughout the year. Bare-root stock (RN) and most large field-grown specimens (M, MGR) are lifted only in the dormant season, roughly November to March. We will give a realistic lifting window before you commit.
On arrival
Unload plants upright and water the root ball the same day, even in winter. Keep root balls covered and moist until planting. Plant within a few days where possible; if that is not possible, heel stock in or stand containers close together out of the wind.
If something is wrong
Check the consignment on delivery and tell us within 48 hours if anything is damaged or missing, with photographs. We will replace or credit it.
