Acer pseudoplatanus
Common sycamore
Sycamore maple carries dark green foliage on a large, spreading crown that can reach 25 to 35 m tall and 15 to 20 m across. Hardy to zone 4, it stands up to wind and exposure, which is why it appears so often in shelter belts and coastal planting.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
