Acer rubrum 'October Glory'
Red maple
A small to medium tree of pyramidal outline, with glossy green deciduous leaves and dark red flowers from March to April. It grows to 10 to 15 m by 5 to 8 m and is hardy to zone 4; the moderate size suits streets and gardens where a full-scale maple would be too much.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
