A conifer of strictly conical outline, Araucaria araucana carries rigid, triangular, sharply pointed leaves of glossy green pressed along the branches. In time it becomes a very large specimen of 30-35 m with a narrow 5-7 m spread. Hardy to zone 8A and best given open ground.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
