Pleioblastus humilis 'Pumilus'

Dwarf bamboo

Dark green foliage on a low, compact frame makes this dwarf bamboo a straightforward ground cover. It knits together into an even carpet and responds well to being cut to the ground once the older leaves begin to tire.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
