Cryptomeria japonica 'Elegans'
Japanese cedar
Soft, feathery green foliage turns a bronzed tone over the winter and greens up again with the new growth. Cryptomeria japonica 'Elegans' forms a narrow evergreen conifer of 4 to 6 metres by 2 to 3 metres, with a loose outline quite unlike a clipped hedging conifer.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
