Kerria japonica
Japanese kerria
Kerria japonica is grown for its yellow flowers, carried along slim green stems that arch out from the base. It forms a loose, thicket-like shrub which spreads slowly and is easily renewed by cutting the oldest stems to the ground. It performs in light shade as well as in sun.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
