Lespedeza thunbergii

Lespedeza thunbergii

Bush clover

The leaves of Lespedeza thunbergii are blue-green, carried on long stems that arch outward under their own weight. Rose-purple flowers open in early autumn, running along the length of the shoots at a time when little else is starting to flower. A sunny, open position suits it.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
