Liriodendron tulipifera 'Fastigiata'
Tulip tree
A narrow form of the tulip tree, with strongly ascending lateral branches that hold the crown close to the trunk. The columnar outline is kept into maturity, so it takes little lateral space for its height. Suited to avenues and streets where a broad canopy is unwanted.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
