Mahonia media 'Charity'
Green, deeply divided foliage on upright stems is topped by large sprays of deep yellow flowers. The shrub reaches 2-3.5 m high and 2-3 m across, so it can hold the back of a shaded border. Hardy to zone 7B; it prefers shelter and moist soil.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
