Robinia pseudoacacia 'Umbraculifera'
Mop-head acacia
The mop-head acacia forms a dense, near-spherical crown on a clear grafted stem, 5-6 m high and 4-5 m wide. Its branches carry no thorns, and the pinnate leaves are dark green. Long used in avenues, courtyards and formal squares where a repeated shape is wanted.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
