Compact evergreen with finely divided leaves of a white-grey cast, aromatic when rubbed. The mound stays dense if trimmed after flowering, and the pale colour reads strongly against dark foliage. Used for low edging, knot planting and dry sunny banks.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
