Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata'

Irish yew

The Irish yew forms a narrow column of erect stems, growing slowly to about 5-7 m tall and 2-3 m across. The needles are dark green and carried all round the shoots, giving a solid outline. Hardy to zone 6B and long-lived, it is used for vertical accents and avenues.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
