A garden weigela grown as a deciduous shrub with arching shoots and paired green leaves. Flowering follows the pattern of the group, on wood made the previous year. Ordinary soil and an open position suit it, with pruning done straight after bloom.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
