Juniperus communis 'Sentinel'

Common juniper

'Sentinel' is a columnar form of the common juniper with grey-green foliage carried on a slim, upright frame. Used singly it marks a corner or a doorway; in a row it makes a narrow screen that takes up very little ground. Sun and free-draining soil are the main requirements.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
