Juniperus davurica 'Expansa Variegata'

Dahurian juniper

Also catalogued as Juniperus chinensis 'Parsonsii Variegata', this juniper grows horizontally, layering its branches out from the centre. The green foliage is broken by cream-white patches scattered irregularly through the shoots, giving a mottled surface. Best in full sun on well-drained ground.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
