Juniperus scopulorum 'Wichita Blue'

Rocky Mountain juniper

'Wichita Blue' carries distinctly blue foliage on a broadly pyramidal frame, tapering evenly from a wide base to a pointed tip. The strong colour and clean silhouette make it a specimen conifer rather than a filler. It calls for an open, sunny position on well-drained ground.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
