Magnolia grandiflora 'Little Gem'
Southern magnolia
Flowers are smaller than those of the type, with waved petals, and they come abundantly over a long period. The plant stays shrubby, roughly 3-6 m high and 2-4 m wide, with evergreen leaves. Suited to courtyards, narrow borders and large containers in mild areas.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
