Robinia pseudoacacia 'Casque Rouge'
Black locust
Deep pink pea flowers hang in heavy racemes and are the reason this robinia is grown. It stays smaller than the type at 6-10 m by 5-8 m, so it fits gardens and narrow streets. The pinnate foliage is light and open, casting only thin shade.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
