Sophora japonica 'Regent'
Japanese pagoda tree
A selection of the Japanese pagoda tree with a straighter, greener trunk than the type, which makes it easier to grow as a standard. Size matches the species at 10-15 m by 10-12 m, and the pinnate leaves turn yellow in autumn. Chosen for street work where a clean stem matters.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
