Magnolia soulangiana 'Alba Superba'
Saucer magnolia
Large white flowers, cupped like a goblet, open on the branches of a spreading deciduous shrub. Mature size is around 5-6 m in height and spread, so it needs room at the front of a group. Plant in sun or half shade on moist, free-draining ground.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
