Fagus sylvatica 'Dawyck Gold'

Fagus sylvatica 'Dawyck Gold'

Golden Dawyck beech

A narrow columnar beech whose young leaves emerge yellow, turn green over summer and finish yellow-brown in autumn. The frame stays tight, 12-15 m tall and 2.5-3 m wide, so the shifts of colour appear as a vertical band rather than a broad canopy. Zone 5B.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
