Fagus sylvatica 'Tricolor'

Tricolour beech

Slow-growing deciduous beech, also listed as 'Roseomarginata', with purple leaves finished by a paler pink margin. The restrained size, 12-15 m by 8-10 m, and the two-tone foliage make it a tree for close viewing rather than for distant effect. Zone 6.

About sizes
CLT is a container volume in litres, VRL the same in a decorative red container. M is a field-grown plant lifted with its root ball, MGR the same grown in isolation and wire-balled. RN is bare root, available in the dormant season. T is a full standard and POT a planter. Heights are given as a range in centimetres; trunk girth is the circumference measured at one metre. A larger container is not always dearer: a trained or grafted form of the same volume costs more than a bush, and the form is named on the row.
